WHAT TYPE OF PORN SHOULD I SHOOT?
By far, one of the most common questions that I get is… “What type of content should I shoot??”
This is a core question for your new Adult/XXX business and I suggest you think about it in great detail before you begin. But realize, you aren’t stuck shooting one thing or one niche for the rest of your life! You can change at any time and go a direction direction if you want. Or you can do multiple niches at once. I know many producers that do this and are very successful. It’s all your choice.
I think the most important consideration for choosing the type of content you shoot is to choose something that you personally like and watch. For instance, I have a friend of mine…another XXX producer… that tried to shoot Gay Content because it was known to be a really profitable niche. Well after 6 months—He was never really successful at this venture because he is personally just not in to ‘Gay Stuff’ - So he was not consistent in producing it and he did not have the Passion for it. There is nothing wrong with Gay Content, but it just wasn’t for him- this was not a good choice for him as he did not really care about the overall end product as much as he would have if it had been a niche that he really liked. To make a long story short, he changed his direction and began shooting Asian girls with White men – his true passion – and has been highly successful ever since and has not looked back.
The point of this important business tip for you is that your best niche is probably going to be the one that you truly love and are truly in to. You’ll be passionate about every aspect… pre-production, production and editing. You’ll also be more willing to hustle daily and make it work if you’re doing the kind of stuff you love.
So consider what type of content you personally watch and make your decision from there. Don’t get stuck on making this decision – its more important to just begin shooting than sitting around and doing nothing at all. Take Axxxtion. Good luck! ‘You Can Do It!’
